Entrance Notes(1) The main entrance to the Museum of Anthropology is located on the north side of North West Marine Drive. The entrance is reached by taking the stairs from the parking lot or taking the path to the west. The entrance is level and accessible and has a power door. This is the only entrance to the Museum that is open to the public. Other Accessibility Features

Closest Accessible Parking- Museum of Anthropology Lot Routing NotesPersons using wheelchairs should use the path to the left of the main staircase to access the main entrance. This path also leads to the rear of the building and the Haida House and Totem Poles. Accessibility NotesNone. This building is fully accessible. Caution NotesUse caution on the gravel path to the west of the building. The path is very uneven in places and persons in wheelchairs may not wish to use it. |

Unique Location Features / Special Usage- side of building has totem poles, Long House, etc. accessible from west path (but gravel path may not be accessible for some) History / Points of InterestYear Erected: 1975 The Museum of Anthropology opened in 1976. The building's architect was Arthur Erickson who designed the structure to reflect the traditional buildings of North West Coast First Nations peoples. In 1990 an addition was made to the building to contain the Koerner gallery. |
