Entrance Notes

(1) The main entrance to the Buchanan Tower is located on the east side of the building on East Mall. This entrance is not accessible due to stairs and has a manual door. The entrance leads into the main lobby of the building.

(2) Another main entrance is located on the west side of the building across from the Buchanan Complex. This entrance is level and accessible and has a power door. The entrance leads into the main lobby of the building.

Year Erected: 1972

The Buchanan Tower was built in 1972 and was named for the former Dean of Arts and Sciences, Daniel Buchanan, who passed away in 1950. At the time it was completed, the Arthur Erickson inspired building was the tallest building on the UBC campus.
