Entrance Notes

(1) The main entrance to the Acadia Community Centre is located on the east side of the building next to the parking lot on Tennis Crescent. This entrance is level and accessible and has a manual door.

(2) Another main entrance is located on the west side of the building on Pearkes Lane. This entrance is level and accessible and has a manual door.

THE HEALTH SCIENCES PARKADE IS LOCATED AT 2250 HEALTH SCIENCES MALL. THE ENTRANCE TO THE PARKADE IS ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE STRUCTURE, JUST WEST OF HEALTH SCIENCES MALL NEXT TO PATIENT PARK AND THE BACK OF THE UBC HOSPITAL COMPLEX.

History / Points of Interest

Year Erected: 1989

The Acadia Community Centre was opened in 1988. The Community Centre serves the faculty, staff, and family housing in the Acadia Park area of campus, as well as acting as the commons block for the Fairview Crescent undergraduate residences. Student and Faculty residences have been in the Acadia area since 1944 when reassembled army huts were erected to house returning veterans from World War Two.
