History / Points of Interest

Year Erected: 1993

The First Nations Longhouse was officially opened in May 1993. Its design reflects the traditional building style of the Coast Salish peoples and is angled to align with a north-south axis to adhere to the First Nations cosmology. The university campus is made up of lands traditionally occupied by the Musqueam First Nation.
